Mabuhay..!
I have a surprise thing for you now, because I
will share my greatest experience in teaching Filipino’s students for the first
time.
Aren’t you excited to hear my story?
Okay let’s begin by Once upon a time....
.
.
Before going to teach in the class,
I submitted my lesson plan to be checked and assigned by my supervising
instructor. When my lesson plan is already correct, then my mentor will explain
what will I do in collaboration teaching and the real teaching. We arrange the
teaching step and the teacher suggests me to maake sure that I ready to teach
without any books and notes in the class. I should memorize all of the subject
that I am going to teach.
I greet the students to start the
class and then I tell them what subject that we will study about. I ask them
some questions and give them opportunity to answer my pre-question based on
their knowledges. After that, I explain them the subject that I have prepared
before, I give them a sample problem that solved together with the students to
make an interactive learning.
I please the students to ask if
they have some questions and I ask them about their understanding. If they
already clear with the lesson, I give them an assignment to explore their
knowledge.
1.
Time Management and Organizing
Activity
To teach the subject that I prepared in the lesson plan, I
have to manage what
will I do in the class for 60 minutes. I organized the class activities into 4 section:
will I do in the class for 60 minutes. I organized the class activities into 4 section:
-
5 minutes to start the lesson
-
10 minutes to
explore their knowledge before
-
30 minutes to
explain the subject and solving a sample problem
-
15 minutes for
asking questions, giving assignments, and dismiss the class.
2.
Solving Problem
The main problem that I got in the
class is sometimes the students are not too clear with my explanation using
English, and the solution is the teacher would like to summarizes the subject that I taught before in Tagalog.
3.
Classroom management
Before starting the class I ask the
students to fulfill the chair at foward side, so that no one sit down in the
last chair. I want to make them hear my voice clearly and they can see my
written in the board. I try to write the subject in the board from the left
side to the right so it will be good to see. I write in normal size so the
student at back can see my writting well.
To make the student active in the
class, I please some of them to answer my question in the board. I ask the students
to give applause to the students who wants to come forward answering the
question that I give.
Do not be bored to read my story because I
have an unforgettable and funny experience here. When I ask the students “Are we clear?”
or “Malinau ?” the students answered me by “Yes sir!” haha Oh My God, they called
me Sir but I’m a woman. But I understand their habbit because their real
teacher in General Physics was a man (Mr. Jerome G. Rosario) so that why they did
not aware when saying “Yes sir” to me.
Hummm, do you feel that I forget something to
share here?
Yes, I forget to share my pictures during my
teaching practice but do not worry I will show it below...
Sstttt, do not feel bored to see my face! Haha
